1. Who we are

This Privacy Notice explains how Rines English ("we", "our") collects and uses personal information when you visit rinesenglish.com or use our classes, digital guides, tutor and civics practice exam (the "Service"). Rines English acts as the data controller for information collected through the Service.

2. Information we collect

Account data — name, email, password (hashed), country / language preferences.
Learning data — lessons completed, streaks, points, exam attempts, tutor conversations.
Lead data — first name, last name and email you provide to receive the free guide.
Support & communications — messages you send us, testimonials you submit.
Usage / device data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, cookies and similar identifiers.
Order data — purchase confirmations returned by our payment processor. Card details are handled entirely by Paddle and never stored on our servers.

3. How we use the information

Create and secure your account, provide the classes and the exam, and track your progress.
Deliver purchased content and process credits for exam attempts.
Send transactional emails (welcome, guide download, receipts, security notices).
Improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
With your consent, send educational and marketing emails you can unsubscribe from at any time.

4. Legal bases

We rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you bought), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and prevent abuse), consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies) and legal obligations(tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests).

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

Merchant of Record — Paddle.com Inc. processes payments, taxes, invoicing and refunds as the seller of record.
Hosting & infrastructure — Lovable Cloud (Supabase / Cloudflare) hosts our application, database and edge functions.
Email delivery — providers used to send transactional and marketing emails from notify.rinesenglish.com.
AI providers — Google (Gemini) is used to power the tutor. Conversations are processed to generate replies; do not paste sensitive personal data into the tutor.
Analytics & search tooling — Google Search Console for aggregated search analytics; UserWay for accessibility.
Professional advisers — legal, accounting or tax advisers under confidentiality.
Authorities — where required by law, court order or to protect rights and safety.

6. International transfers

Some processors are located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for such transfers.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, typically for the life of your account plus a period required to comply with legal, tax or accounting obligations. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised. Guide lead emails are kept until you unsubscribe.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. 9. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level access controls, least-privilege service credentials and regular security scans — to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to rinesenglish@gmail.com.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service, and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
